Description
A smooth, dairy-free matcha latte made with almond milk for a cozy, energizing sip. Creamy, earthy, and simple to make at home.
Ingredients
- 1–2 tsp ceremonial-grade matcha powder
- 2–3 tbsp hot water (about 175°F)
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1–2 tsp maple syrup or honey (optional)
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract or cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
1. Sift 1–2 tsp of matcha powder into a small bowl to remove clumps.
2. Add 2–3 tbsp hot water (not boiling) and whisk briskly until frothy.
3. Warm almond milk gently on the stove or in the microwave until hot but not boiling.
4. Froth the almond milk using a frother, blender, or whisk.
5. Pour the frothy almond milk into the matcha and stir to combine.
6. Sweeten to taste and add vanilla or cinnamon if desired.
7. Serve hot or pour over ice for a refreshing iced version.
Notes
- Use ceremonial-grade matcha for the smoothest flavor.
- Avoid boiling water—it makes the matcha bitter.
- You can substitute almond milk with oat or coconut milk if desired.
- To make it iced, pour over a glass of ice after combining.
