Description
This creamy, dairy-free coconut matcha latte delivers smooth energy and calm focus in under 5 minutes. Perfect hot or iced, it’s a clean, comforting alternative to coffee.
Ingredients
- 1 tsp ceremonial-grade matcha powder
- 2 tbsp hot water (about 175°F)
- 1 cup coconut milk (full-fat or light)
- 1–2 tsp honey, maple syrup, or coconut sugar (optional)
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
- Pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
1. Sift the matcha powder into a small bowl to remove clumps.
2. Add hot water and whisk briskly in a zigzag or “M” motion until smooth and frothy.
3. In a small saucepan, heat the coconut milk until hot but not boiling.
4. Add sweetener and optional vanilla or spices to the milk.
5. Pour the hot milk into the matcha and stir gently.
6. Froth the top if desired and serve immediately. For iced, chill the milk and serve over ice.
Notes
- Use ceremonial-grade matcha for the best flavor.
- Avoid boiling water, which can make matcha bitter.
- To make an iced version, skip the heating and serve over ice.
- For batch prep, combine 5 tsp matcha + 5 tbsp sweetener in a jar.
